What is STL?
Sex Therapy London (STL) is a free and confidential online service for people who are experiencing sexual difficulties and/or who want to make changes to their sex life. STL contains a range of self-help information, advice and resources to help improve your sex life. It also has interactive online programmes that are available to patients of CNWL Sexual Health Services.
Who created stl?
STL has been developed by a team of experienced clinical psychologists, with input from specialist medical doctors, working in CNWL Sexual Health Services. Our Sexual Problems Assessment and Treatment Service (SPATS) provides both medical and psychological assessment, advice and treatment for people experiencing sexual difficulties.
Who is STL for?
STL is intended for use by people aged 16 or above living in England.
If you are experiencing a specific sexual difficulty and want to improve your sex life then STL may be right for you.
The information and exercises described in our booklets and programmes are based on psychological and sex therapy techniques that have been shown to improve sexual difficulties.
They have been written for people of all genders, sexualities, sexual orientations, cultures, backgrounds and relationship statuses. While the suggestions and exercises in our booklets and programmes are based on principles that are relevant for everyone, some sections contain information about the biological and physical changes that can happen in specific parts of sexual anatomy. Some content and diagrams may not be reflective of your anatomy, including people who are intersex, people who have had gender affirming surgery, or people who have experienced physical changes due to specific medical conditions and/or treatment required. In these instances, if further information is required we recommend you speak to your GP or a specialist in sexual medicine. All bodies are different and we invite you to use the information in the way that it is most applicable to you.
[Sexual health is] a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being in relation to sexuality; it is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or infirmity.
Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence.
For sexual health to be attained and maintained, the sexual rights of all persons must be respected, protected and fulfilled. The World Health Organization's definition of 'sexual health'
