Exploring how our bodies work, and what turns us on and turns us off, is an ongoing process throughout our sexual lives. Understanding how we like to be sexual with ourselves or a partner is an important starting place. Most of us will experience some kind of sexual difficulty at some point, and navigating challenges within our sexual experiences is completely normal for many young people. There can be many reasons for this, including feeling stressed or simply not feeling ready. By accessing this website, you are taking proactive steps to prioritise your sexual wellbeing and health.

This website is intended for people aged 16 and above. It contains information and resources about specific sexual difficulties and ways to improve your sex life (for further information see: FAQs). It can also be helpful to talk openly with a trusted partner, friend, or family member, as they may have encountered similar experiences. If sexual difficulties go on for more than six months and/or are causing distress then it is recommended to seek professional support. Please seek advice from your GP or local sexual health clinic. They are trained to provide guidance, and your privacy is a top priority.

Brook is a young people’s sexual health provider.  Their website has lots of helpful information about sex and sexual health (https://www.brook.org.uk/). This includes information about having sex for the first time, consent, sexuality and gender, our bodies, relationships, contraception, and sexually transmitted infections.

If you live in London or Surrey you can also access our young people’s sexual health services. Our London service at the Archway Centre (Archway) is for people under 25.  Our Surrey service is at Buryfields Clinic (Guildford) and is for people under 19.  You can use the Brook service finder to find your local young people’s sexual health services across the United Kingdom.
